Happiness

I am amazed daily by how laughter is contagious. Just one smile, one tickle, one silly noise...then we all let loose! Caden, Colin, and Emma keep my smiling and laughing each day. My ribs and tummy muscles (not to mention my brain) thank them greatly for it:)

Make a baby or child laugh today! It's good for you, too.

Just for Comparison...

Florida: Part Two

Florida greeted me with the warmth that I expected, and longed for. As soon as the plane's door opened, I breathed in a mouthful of humidity. I think Caden was glad to get out and stretch as well.

I could not believe how beautiful my parents' new place was. The ceilings were so high (I wonder how they'll clean cobwebs up there?). Everything was welcoming - from the bedroom, to the sparkling kitchen (with the complimentary bowl of Andes Mints waiting), to the pool that was beckoning a dip. I was definitely excited to be in Florida, and was slightly afraid I wouldn't want to leave.

The morning greeted Caden and me early. Really early. Apparently birds in Florida like to wake up at about 4am! Ok, so not the most pleasant way to wake up, but that was ok. I was excited to start the day with a walk around the neighborhood. The pastel colors of the houses, the warmth of the sun, and the breeze all calmed me immediately.

Caden and I spent most of the day enjoying the sun, and our family. I was incredibly happy to see my cousins and their children - all teenagers now. These beautiful girls were so little when they walked down the aisle as my flower girls almost ten years ago! They've definitely grown up, and are most definitely teenagers (I hope I was never like that!).

Caden charmed the crowd, and even got a few laughs when Rick (of course it was Rick) offered him a beer. A bit young perhaps...although, I've never had a beer, and I'm 30 years older than Caden is! Anyway, the picture is cute, and goes to show that Rick gave him beer, and my dad didn't intervene!

More about Florida on another day!
